In some vehicles, there is also an anchor pretensioner that is deployed or blown after the accident. An anchor pretensioner is a metal pipe (approximately 10” long) that can either be connected to the belt (seat belt side), or it will be connected to the buckle on the other side of the seat. If a seat belt is deployed, the anchor pretensioner on that side will also be deployed.
